Cancer-Focused Health Screening

I am covered by health insurance. Can I use it to claim for my Health Screening?

Certain insurance plans cover health screening costs. Get in touch with us to find out more about your particular plan’s coverage.

Can I use Medisave/ Integrated Shield Plan to claim for my Health Screening?

Unfortunately, health screenings are not claimable using Medisave. The Integrated Shield Plan (or IP) generally does not cover health screenings as well.

Why are ICS’ Cancer Focused Health Screenings priced as such?

At International Cancer Specialists (ICS), we believe that nothing compares to obtaining assurance and peace of mind. ICS’ Health Screening packages are focused on cancer detection and utilise many different specialised sets of machinery for detecting different cancers. Your test results are then reviewed by our doctors who have decades of experience as cancer specialists.

We also understand that in some cases, time is of essence in knowing the answer to certain health issues. As such, ICS is able to prepare your health report within a quick 1-2 working days of the screening.

Visiting For The First Time

What should I bring for my First Consultation/ Health Screening?

Kindly bring your latest medical reports, scan images, and any relevant test results. Due to safe distancing measures in place, only one accompanying person is allowed per patient.

How long will my appointment take?

For cancer related consultations, the time required per appointment differs based on each patient’s case and needs. First visits usually take up to 1 hour, while follow ups may take about half an hour on average.
For Cancer Focused Health Screenings, our experienced team will arrange for it to take about half a day. We will advise you further on the actual time required for the health screening on the day itself.

Financing My Cancer Treatment

Can I afford private cancer treatment?

Unknown to many, private cancer treatment may actually be within reach for many of us. Over the past 13 years, International Cancer Specialists has been helping our patients process their treatment claims from multiple insurance companies in Singapore and around the world. As such, our patients from all walks of life have been able to comfortably finance their treatments.

How do I plan for the financing of my cancer treatment?

Be at ease as at ICS you never walk alone, let us plan for financing together. Upon your visit to ICS for treatment, we provide free financial counselling to assist you to make an informed choice on finance matters. Our team of nurses with years of experience in handling international, local, and corporate insurance stand ready to assist with any issues with the financing of your treatment that you may have.

What is the best way to finance my cancer treatment?

Everybody is covered differently from one another. The claims process will vary from individual to individual based on your insurance coverage. Hence, it is best to get in touch with us for more tailored information for your case.

I’m covered by Critical Illness insurance. Does that mean I don’t have to pay anything out of my own pocket?

For the majority of cases, patients only have to pay for the first consultation of $192.60 (GST Inclusive), which is not claimable by insurance.

I have upgraded my Integrated Shield Plan to cover private healthcare. Can I use it for my visits to ICS?

The Integrated Shield Plan (or IP), if upgraded to cover private hospitals, is a type of insurance available in Singapore that you can use to claim on outpatient cancer treatment with ICS.

How long will I have to wait get an appointment?

Time is of the essence for our patients, and as such, we do our best to see you within one or two working days.

Can I come to ICS for a second opinion?

Assurance is always good to have. We regularly provide quality second opinions to patients who have been diagnosed from our experienced cancer specialists. Upon your visit, we will kindly review your medical history and clarify any doubts that you may have.

Will I have to be hospitalised for treatment?

Worry not, most cancer treatment does not require an overnight hospital stay and takes place in outpatient facilities. On the day of your first visit, you should not expect to be admitted to the hospital however, depending on the doctor’s decision, we are able to offer treatment in hospitals as well. Our doctors will give you more detailed information on this upon your visit.
