Too many red blood cells in the body can cause many problems such as having an increased risk of blood clots forming in the blood vessels for example. A venesection is a relatively convenient procedure that will reduce the red blood cells in your body to safer levels.

By delivering the treatment drugs into the bloodstream via intravenous drip, or via orally administered chemotherapy in the form of pills or capsules, chemotherapy weakens or kills fast dividing cells like cancer cells.
